Charece has been an outspoken advocate for empowering women and girls since the age of 14. Being an African American woman continuously struggling to secure her rightful place in today’s society, has reinforced her notion that there is a persistent need for advocacy on behalf of women. The Metamorphosis Women’s Empowerment Initiative, is a multi-faceted community based organization in
Stroudsburg, PA established to build a multitude of relationships fashioned to enhance “the womanly Experience” and programs engineered to empower all women. With the goal of inciting a call to action to make changes which will produce better outcomes especially for those who live in underrepresented communities, Charece encourages women to use their voices and talents to be the spark for change. Inspired by the words of Maya Angelou’s Phenomenal Woman, she believes that every woman is a “phenomenally, phenomenal woman”. She strives to do her part to uplift, educate and encourage women to be their best in every phase of life and continue her mission at the helm of the Metamorphosis Women’s Empowerment Initiative.

Charece was born and raised in Harlem, NYC. Growing up in the inner city inspired her to become a voice for the youth in the African American community serving as a writer, newspaper editor, youth activist and advocate for teens who were survivors of suicide attempts, rape, and sexual assault. She worked with various youth organizations to implement programs around New York City to assist teen mothers to return to high school and the workforce, decrease teen parenthood, reduce adolescent drug use and trafficking and empower young adults to become entrepreneurs. Her passion for community service and outreach prompted her to serve in the medical profession for 16 years in the nursing field as a medical assistant, phlebotomist and Ventilator/Tracheostomy nurse servicing pediatric and adult clients who suffer from traumatic brain injuries. Adamant about leading by example, she continuously works to exemplify the true beauty of today’s woman from the inside out. Consistent with her community service endeavors, Charece currently occupies seats as a board member of The City of Hope, P.A.T.H., PA Treatment and Healing, as well as a member of The Pocono Chamber of Commerce Multicultural Committee, The Interagency Council of Monroe, PA (IAC), National Council of Negro Women (N.C.N.W.),Founding PA Chapter Member of (B.I.G) Believe, Inspire, Grow and the Pocono Chamber of Commerce to continue her work as an advocate for better lifestyles for underserved communities and individuals. She has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Commission for Women and Adagio Health as a recipient of the Health Equity Heroes Award 2021 for her work to increase health equity for women in low income/ underserved communities, recognized as a “Woman of Excellence” of the Poconos Award recipient for 2023 and received the Best of Stroudsburg Award for 2022 and 2023.
